Individual and family health insurance, without the guesswork
Whether you're self-employed, between jobs, or retiring before Medicare, we'll compare every ACA marketplace and private plan available in your ZIP — and show you exactly what you'd pay after subsidies.
Three routes to coverage — we'll show you all of them
ACA marketplace plans are the right answer for most SWFL individuals and families. Subsidies scale with income, pre-existing conditions are covered, and enrollment is straightforward with an agent's help.
Private plans make sense in specific situations — certain income levels, network preferences, or timing gaps. Short-term coverage bridges transitions like a job change or a move to Florida.
The mistake most people make is looking at only one route. We lay all three side by side with your real subsidy amount calculated in, so the decision is obvious.
The subsidy most people don't know they qualify for
Premium tax credits phase out gradually — there's no hard income cliff. Households well above the poverty line routinely qualify. A family of four in Cape Coral earning $70,000 can still receive meaningful monthly help. We calculate your exact credit before recommending anything.
When different types of coverage can begin
Nov 1 – Jan 15
Marketplace annual open enrollment — anyone can enroll, switch, or drop an ACA Marketplace plan for the coming year.
Year-round
Marketplace Special Enrollment Periods may apply after qualifying life events, such as losing coverage, moving, marriage, a new baby, or certain income changes.
Other options
Private individual plans may be available year-round, subject to carrier availability and underwriting. Employers can establish group coverage on their own schedule.
Frequently asked questions
Can I really get health insurance for under $100 a month in Florida?
Many people can. ACA premium tax credits are based on household income and size, and Florida consistently has some of the highest subsidy usage in the country. A self-employed couple in Lee County with moderate income often qualifies for hundreds of dollars per month in credits. Your exact number depends on your details — that's what a five-minute quote tells you.
What's the difference between marketplace and private plans?
Marketplace (ACA) plans cover pre-existing conditions, include essential health benefits, and are the only plans eligible for premium subsidies. Private off-exchange plans can sometimes offer different networks or pricing but have no subsidies. We compare both and recommend whichever wins on your actual numbers.
What if I missed open enrollment?
The November 1 through January 15 open-enrollment period applies to ACA Marketplace plans. A qualifying life event can open a Marketplace Special Enrollment Period year-round, including losing employer coverage, moving to Florida, getting married or divorced, having a baby, or certain income changes. We can also review private individual health plans that may accept applications year-round, subject to carrier availability and underwriting. For a business, group coverage can be established outside Marketplace enrollment dates; employee enrollment follows the employer plan's eligibility and enrollment rules.
Will my doctors be covered?
That depends entirely on the plan's network — and it's the single most important thing to check before enrolling. We verify your doctors and preferred hospitals (Lee Health, NCH, Physicians Regional, and others) against each plan's current network before you commit.
